What better way is there to practice scissor skills than to open a hair salon?!
This activity is a fun way for your kids to practice their scissor skills and build fine motor skills. To play, cut along the dotted lines to create individual hair strands. Then cut across those strands to give your character a fun hair style. There are 12 characters included with different faces and a variety of cutting lines. Grab the FREE activity below!
**Once you click “Get on the List” head on over to your email and look for an email titled, “Here’s your Hair Salon FREE Printable!” from Katelyn – Learning with Missy Marlo.
It may take up to 15 minutes for this email to reach your inbox. You might also need to check your junk mail or spam.
Once you find your freebie, be sure to add me to your email contacts so we can stay in touch!
Another fun way to do this activity is to grab some construction paper, cut it hotdog style. Then cut some hair about 1/3 of the way down the top of the paper. Draw some faces on your clients and open up shop!
Missy Marlo loved seeing the different faces and cutting their hair different styles and lengths!

I am the Education Coordinator at a Head Start Program.
Cutting is definitely a preschool skill.
Would love to receive your news letters as I work with 4&5 years old
My students will love these. I teach a self contained kinder class and these will be a fun addition to out fine motor skills box!
These are great
Thank you!
Thanks this is so good. The kids loved them…lots of giggles 🙂
YAY! So happy to hear that!
Cute idea!
Thank you Jody!
I am excited to try these out with my kids
Really like the idea. I work with childeren from ages between 5 and 12 who never received any education or little. So this is great for learning them the basics of craft.
For people who say they received nothing. Please check your spam/junk folder. I got mine in the spam folder.
Thank you so much.
Love these ideas
I am a first grade teacher and I notice that some students are not able to hold scissors and have a hard time cutting. I really like the haircutting practice idea. I hope to be able to use this with my students at the beginning of the year.
Thank you so much for this idea.
I love these! I cannot wait to see what my kids do with these.
